When looking for materials for your next DIY project, consider the wide variety of DIY project options provided by wood rounds and unfinished pine boards. Unfinished wood rounds are lightweight, circle-shaped pieces of wood often used in crafting. The unfinished wood is an opportunity to bring your own interior design visions to life!

Come shop with us today as we pick up the supplies we need from Lowe’s to DIY a barrel table!

A barrel table is a unique piece you can incorporate into your home or business to add a rustic and funky touch that is designed by you. This DIY project can be knocked out in a day, and we are breaking down the steps for you to tackle this project.

What You’ll Need:

  • Barrel
  • Paintbrush
  • Stain
  • Wood round
  • Sandpaper
  • Measuring tape
  • Polyurethane
  • Wood glue
  • Rags

The Steps:

  1. Find a used barrel from a local antique shop, thrift store, or local distillery.
  2. Clean the barrel with soap and water and let dry.
  3. Measure the diameter of the top of the barrel to shop for the right-sized wood round.
  4. Sand both your wood round and barrel to a smooth and comfortable finish.
  5. Stain or paint your wood round with your choice of finish with paint brushes and rags. You can also paint or stain the barrel, or leave it natural for a more rustic look.
  6. Once the stain or paint dries, seal the wood with a top coat of polyurethane.
  7. Once dry, attach the wood round to the top of the barrel with wood glue. Use rags to remove any excess glue.
  8. Allow to fully dry, and enjoy!
